what would our churches be like…

What would our churches be like if we shared with one another how the Lord was working in our lives? What if lost people who were visiting our churches heard not only the Word (and how God worked then), but also heard first hand how He was working NOW! I started really thinking about this the other evening. It was Sunday night and Bro. David asked if anyone would like to share what the Lord was doing in their lives. To my knowledge, about 4 women went up and testified. Don’t misunderstand me, that’s great, in some congregations that never happens. But what would happen if we could’nt keep our mouths shut. What if we couldn’t keep it inside? What if we just had to tell someone? What if the preacher had to make us stop so he could preach? I know what you’re thinking? I’ve thought them all and said them all, too. (I’m too shy, I’m too nervous, I’m too scared, I don’t have to do that, that’s just not me, etc….) I have a question for you. How many of you guys that have said these same excuses to yourself and to others don’t seem to have a problem standing up and praising a football team? Or telling others about your favorite team. Or telling others how well your team did. That doesn’t seem to make us too nervous, does it? Just wanted to get us thinking. Who or what are we praising? I love Alabama Football as well as anybody else. but something is bad wrong when we can tell others about the game but we don’t care enough about them to tell them about Jesus.
